It's comforting to know that at least some Republicans are standing up to the newly-established orthodoxy, as Daniels here shows by calling for a "truce" in the culture wars so that government can deal with the financial crises we are all facing....
Although it may just be that any serious candidate for political office (never mind the Presidency) is thinking that they need to just avoid the issue of immigration altogether now....
An intersting twist of this bill suggests that the federal government should have to pay for the states to enforce these laws which they are passing which run counter to federal law!
Luckily (for now at least) it seems that the extremist nature of this bill so alienates the allies of the We The People Tea Party movement that it stands little chance of passing as it now stands....
If the Indiana Chamber of Commerce opposes your "conservative" legislation, it's time to reconsider your priorities....
